Basketboy Handwoven Natural Rattle
This product is sold out
Basketboy is an award winning weaver currently living in Mystery Bay on the South Coast of NSW. He weaves using locally harvested sustainable and invasive species that grow wildly around his homes on Mystery Bay, NSW and Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
These rattles are woven from Spiny Rush that grows in the marshlands and other wetland areas. The fibres are harvested with permission from the plant, naturally dried and then soaked in rainwater in preparation for what is a very old and secret weaving pattern.
Each unique rattle contains a small rock, some seasonal seed or pod, and a small bell, all sourced locally. Handles measure approximately 20cm each.
Rattles can be rinsed under running water (advisable prior to handling by children). Use under supervision is recommended with young children.
