Serving Platter - Blackbutt timber with 'Shou Sugi Ban' detail

These elegant food platters are made from reclaimed Blackbutt by designer Mark Gunning for Asiki. 

 The platters are finished on one side using the 'Shou Sugi Ban' method which originated in Japan and involves burning the wood to make it more resilient. 

 The reverse side has been left to show the natural grain

 Approx 65cm long x 14.5 cm wide

 Note that due to timber variations and the handmade nature of these items each one is a little different.

 End of Life: Biodegradable and home compostable. Simply bury it in the earth.
